Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders have been two of the most exciting teams in the IPL so far this season. Why? Delhi Capital have Rishabh Pant and KKR have Andre Russell – when those guys are the crease, you cannot help but sit and watch.
Russell, in our opinion, is by far the most valuable cricketer in the world. This is a guy who bats like Viv Richards and bowls fast like Mitchell Johnson. Where else can you find such a cricketer?
Rishabh Pant is a sensation in India. He is someone who can turn any match situation on its head. He is compared to a younger version of MS Dhoni. However, Dhoni was a better wicketkeeper than Rishabh even in his early days. Rishabh will need to correct his flaws and become more reliable – he cannot keep missing chances every now and then.
Delhi Capitals have the advantage of home condition in this match. But the Feroz Shah Kotla pitch will probably suit KKR better as it is slow and low. KKR have 3 very good spinners, of course and they will enjoy bowling here.
One thing is clear, Delhi Capitals will have to back themselves and pick up after the defeat in their last game. KKR are unbeaten and will look to extend their perfect run so far.
For Delhi, Chris Morris is back. Morris is similar to Andre Russell, a fast bowler who bats very well. But he is not as good as Russell by any means. What is clear is that we have two very good teams with many good players. Who plays on the day of the match wins.
The Teams
Delhi Capitals: 1 Shikhar Dhawan, 2 Prithvi Shaw, 3 Shreyas Iyer (capt), 4 Colin Ingram, 5 Rishabh Pant (wk), 6 Chris Morris, 7 Axar Patel/Sandeep Lamichhane, 8 Rahul Tewatia, 9 Kagiso Rabada, 10 Amit Mishra, 11 Ishant Sharma
Kolkata Knight Riders: 1 Chris Lynn, 2 Sunil Narine, 3 Robin Uthappa, 4 Nitish Rana, 5 Shubman Gill, 6 Dinesh Karthik (capt & wk), 7 Andre Russell, 8 Piyush Chawla, 9 Kuldeep Yadav, 10 Lockie Ferguson, 11 Prasidh Krishna
Prediction: Another win for Kolkata Knight Riders. Already they look like the favorites to win the IPL 2019. We can’t see any weaknesses in their team. They have all bases covered. But Delhi Capitals can spring a surprise, especially if Rishabh Pant gets going.
