Mumbai Indians know what needs to be done – win the remaining games in the IPL – every single one of them. Do that and they will make it to the play-offs.
Don’t be surprised if the Mumbai Indians do that. This is something they seem to do every season. They lose most of their matches in April and win all of them in May. Indian Premier League 2018 may be no different.
Mumbai Indians are 5th in the points table, but with Kings XI losing last night’s game against Rajasthan Royals, they have every chance of going 4th. They will however need their best players to perform. By that, we mean Rohit Sharma, Jaspreet Bumrah and the Pandya Bros – Hardik and Krunal.
The younger Pandya brother, Hardik, seems to have regained his old touch. He has done well with both the bat and ball last few games and that has probably been the main reason why Mumbai Indians are winning.
As for the overseas players in the Mumbai Indians team – we have no clue what they are doing. They are paid for pretty much doing nothing at all – except for Evin Lewis.
Kieron Pollard has been a disaster in this IPL. JP Duminy, his replacement, has done absolutely nothing. Ben Cutting – the poor guy – he doesn’t get to bowl and never even has had a chance to bat. We have no clue what he is doing in the team.
As for Mitchell McClenaghan, he has been very mediocre, taken out for runs easily. He poses no threat at all. Mumbai Indians could have picked any fast bowler in the world, we don’t know why they have chosen to go with someone who is well past his prime.
KKR are a very good team and they have unearthed two very good young fast bowlers in Shivam Mavi and Prasidh Krishna. But they are both young and have a long way to go.
Mitchell Johnson – he poses no threat to anyone. Honestly, he should have retired by now.
Prediction: Mumbai Indians to win. This is the time of the season when Mumbai Indians start winning. Happens every IPL.
