India Cricket Team’s tour to Australia is advancing towards the conclusion with some exciting, and breathtaking games with 3rd T20 is just around the corner, former England skipper Michael Vaughan has received a bit of criticism from former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer for trolling the Indian team on social media. Before the ODI series, Vaughan had shared a tweet predicting that India will lose in all three formats of the game against the Aussies.
The prediction went wrong as India secured the series victory by winning the consecutive T20 games. After a bad start in the ODI series where Indian bowlers got smashed for 370 plus run twice, Indian batting showcased their real talent in the 2nd T20 international at Sydney Cricket Ground where Hardik Pandya took his team to a series victory.
After winning the T20 series, former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer trolled Englishman for criticizing the Indian team and predicting the Aussies’ triumph in all three formats of the game. Jaffer shared a photo in reply to Vaughan’s tweet which meant to mock the prediction of the former England captain.
Indian had lost the ODI series in a humiliating fashion where they allowed Kangaroos to score 370 plus runs twice while they managed to win the 3rd ODI to avoid a clean sweep. When the T20 series started, nobody had very high expectations from Kohli’s men but they revived their history of coming back from difficult situations and bested Australians in the consecutive T20s to secure a series win.
Hardik Pandya was impressive once again as he took his team to victory in a very difficult situation by smashing Australian bowlers all around the park in death overs. He scored a quickfire 42 off just 22 balls which earned India a T20 series on Australian soil. Unlike Vaughan’s prediction, India is now eying towards a clean sweep in the T20 series and Australia will have to work very hard to avoid the humiliation.
The Indian team management had rested their key players for the second T20 where T Natarajan replaced Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma was already not available. Natarajan bowled beautifully to fulfill the space of Indian bowling ace and nobody felt the absence of Bumrah. While on the other hand, the Australian bowling attack looked distracted in the absence of Mitchel Starc who had withdrawn himself for personal reasons.
Now, with the 3rd T20 just around the corner, the Indian team is looking to cement their domination in the T20s and if they manage to win the 3rd T20, it will be their first-ever clean sweep in a T20 series against Australia in Australian conditions. Michael Vaughan’s prediction went the wrong way which provided Wasim Jaffer with a chance to troll the former England skipper. Now, everyone is desperate to see the result of the 3rd and last T20 with a question in their minds, can India complete a clean sweep in Australia? Fingers are crossed and it does not seem so easy to beat Kangaroos in 3 consecutive matches on their home grounds.
