Any match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians has always been an exciting one, as both teams are closely matched. In a competition when there are no guarantees about the ownerships of the various teams, with so many having gone bust, such as Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, to name just two, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad are stabilizing forces.
So far the two teams have faced each other 9 times and Mumbai Indians lead 5-4. Earlier in April, Nitish Rana and Krunal Pandya led Mumbai to an exciting a four-wicket win over the Hyderabad outfit at the Wankhede.
As of now, Sunrisers Hyderabad are fourth having lost their last two games. They lost to Rising Pune Supergiant by 12 runs and to Delhi Daredevils by six wickets. They however had a big win over Kolkata Knight Riders by 48 runs.

Mumbai Indians are first in the points table having won all of their last three games having beaten Daredevils by 146 runs, Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets and with an exciting win over Gujarat Lions in the Super Over.
Mumbai Indians have already qualified for the playoffs. It remains to be seen whether Sunrisers make it as well or not. They face a tough competition from Kings XI Punjab, but with the Punjab team having lost the last game to Gujarat Lions, they just need to win this match and the next to make it through.
Mumbai will certainly finish in the top 2 if they win two of their next three games. Sunrisers won’t have Ashish Nehra in the team who is injured because of a hamstring pull suffered in the last game. This is unfortunate for the world’s oldest fast bowler.
Mumbai Indians will be without Jos Buttler who has left to join the England team. Lendl Simmons is a good replacement. Krunal Pandya has not yet recovered from his injury, which is unfortunate.
