Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils are once again the bottom two sides in the IPL. This has unfortunately become a habit with them.
With Daredevils, we can understand. But it doesn’t make sense for a team that has Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, the two best batsmen in world cricket to languish in this lowly position.

It’s hard to tell why these teams have been performing so badly. Last year, one could have blamed Chris Gayle for not performing when he was a part of the RCB. But the same Gayle has moved to Kings XI Punjab and is scoring runs for fun. Does it have to do with some other reason?
The problem with RCB is that they have Virat Kohli and everything is about him. Virat is the sort of player who loves taking on responsibility, but there is only so much just one man can do. Cricket is a team game played by 11 players – just Virat alone can’t do much.
Think about it – Cristiano Ronaldo wins the UEFA Champions League multiple times because he plays for Real Madrid, which is a team full of great players. Could Ronaldo have won the Champions League had he played for a team like West Ham or Crystal Palace? No, and that is the case with RCB as well.
It’s not that RCB does not have good players. Quinton de Kock and AB de Villiers are as good as they get. Moeen Ali, Brendon McCullum and Corey Anderson are decent players too. But it’s just not working for them.
We have discussed why before. RCB’s middle order is comprised of the likes of Sarfaraz Khan and Mandeep Singh. How are you going to win anything with them?
With Daredevils, they will want Jason Roy to come good. Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Glenn Maxwell are pretty good players too.
Prediction: It’s a game between two of the worst teams in the competition. The side that makes fewer mistakes will win. We have a hunch that Daredevils will win and the home crowd at Bangalore will be disappointed.
